I have an elite xbox 360 with a benq drive. Can I use jungle flasher 1.6 and follow the tutorial for benq or is there anything different about the elite xbox?

Miketrev is correct, nothing different about a Elite. Here is a Stock BenQ tutorial.

turns out its a lite-on. my friend didnt know the difference. but hopefully all will go smoothly with jungle flasher for lite-on.

i dont have a connectivity kit. Im having trouble getting the xbox into "mode b" so I can get dummy from ixtreme. I am trying power off with tray half open and things like that, but doesnt work. how can I do this without the kit?

PS: this is a stock liteon if it matters.

There is no way to dump the firmware from the Lite-ON, only the DVDkey and drive specific info. That has to be done with a probe/spear. You will probe the R707 hole on the PCB board.

You can make a homemade probe that doesn't require the dvd connectivity kit. Or there is the CK3 connectivity kit with the probe, or the Maximus 360 extractor with the spear.
