red ringing when I power console up to flash

Im powering up to use jugle flash and it is red ringing..is that normal? I have the chasis grounded to the pc case
....

No its not normal. Is it defo red ringing and not 2 red lights (AV cable unplugged). Would suggest putting back together to see if it fixes it

all four are lighting up red...Im not even trying to flash it yet..Im just powering up to start.
Do I have to ground the chasis? could that be it?
I have only seen a few places on here that said I needed to ground the chasis
....

If you are getting 4 red lights then it is normal, if your console does not have the HDMI port, you need to plug the AV cable otherwise 4 red lights would come up right away after powering the unit.

unhooked the ground and it still does it...all four lights are flashing..all I did was take it apart, unhooked sata cable then hooked up long sata from console to pc and hooked power adapter up and plugged it in
....

My bad, i did mean 4 lights not 2. You defo got your AV cable plugged in?
BTW make sure you keep the AV cable in whilst you flash as your drive will cut off mid flash

No the av isnt hooked up....the tv is in the living room and im in my computer room....does it need to go to the tv or just need to be plugged in?
....

yeap just plug the av cable back in, it does not need to be hook up the TV just the 360, the console should be fine and ready to be flashed after that. I suggest you do a lot of reading before flashing.

I have done quite a bit of reading then I keep seeing other stuff mentioned thats not in the tutorials. Thanks a lot for the help guys...you are all top notch

I made the same mistake... used my 360 to power the drive, but didn't realize the 360 would power off if I didn't have the AV cables plugged in.

oh yeah btw....when I clicked unlock sammy it said something about 0800 dvd for ixtreme 1.4 or having the tray half open for 1.5 what about 1.6? the tray wont stay open halfway will it?
....

there are a few ways for leaving the tray half open but the easiest is to press the opening button, unplug the white cord on the back of the drive(the power cord) manually pushing the tray to its position half way and plugging the cord again, make sure to plug it in the right way or else you may brick the drive.

ok Ive tried but it hangs up when it starts to write and I get 2 red lights flashing in the left side of the power botton
....
