When trying to load BootMii from the Homebrew Channel I just get a black screen and the wii drive flashes blue. Should I try reinstalling BootMii, is that safe? Any help is appreciated.
I dont know if you can or are supposed to be running bootmii from the HBC. I think it is something that you install and then run via the SD card but I could be wrong. The below is how I got it to work for me.
I installed bootmii using the bannerbomb exploit whe i first softmodded my wii. You can find the package for the bannerbomb exploit in the Wii Forums. It is called New and Improved Wii softmod guide. Follow the instructions for installing the HBC but when you get to the point where you have an option of what to install choose bootmii instead of the HBC.
When you are done re-installing bootmii it will have created a folder on your SD card called bootmii. If you turn the Wii off, and then back on again with the SD card inserted it will auto load bootmii. You have to turn the Wii off and back on again though. Reset does not work. You will also need to remove either the SD card or the folder called bootmii from the SD card or every time you turn on the Wii bootmii will load.
You will also need a GC Controller and the wavebird wireless ones dont work. It has to be a wired controller. I thought i read you could use a few buttons on the front of the Wii but that didnt work for me and the wiimote does not operate the menu controls on bootmii. Until i figured this out everytime I got bootmii to load I could not do anything cause I had nothing with which to choose the menu options.
