so i building my own lite-on key dumping tool, and i cant find anywhere a db9 connector, or a cable, so i was thinking is it possible to use RJ45 cable instead of the db9 connector?
and what exact is the purpose of the db9 connector?
In theory it is possible, but getting a program to recognize it will be the hard part. I'm pretty sure all of the programs are looking for a serial port. Getting them to look at the ethernet port would require some coding skills.
BUT, when I was thinking about making one(ended up buying a USB extractor) I thought about that too as my computer doesn't have a serial port.
