I bought a xbox that was flashed already with ixtreme 1.5 so updates it to 1.6. The drive plays originals game but It will not play backups. Does anybody know what I did wrong???? One thing that I notice was that the drive was spoof as a benq....

What backup games are you trying to play on it?

If it is any game after March 2009, it won't play on iXtreme 1.5. After you dumped the firmware, and it said Spoofed as BenQ, it originally had a BenQ but somebody replaced it with the Samsung.

What error are you getting when you try to boot the game? Open Tray? Dirty Disc Error?

Sorry i don't think i was clear on my first post i was using my iphone....when i got the console it already had ixtreme 1.5 and this morning i put ixtreme 1.6 firmware.......i put Fight Night Roun 4 to test it and it just said Reading disc for a few seconds and then it said Open Tray......When i open JF it was telling me that it was a Benq.....

Open tray is usually an issue with the laser. If you are already using good media (Verbatim made in Singapore), you might want to try a POT calibration on the laser. Fairly easy to do, just need a multimeter that measures 20k Ohms.

Ok.....right now i'm using Memorex but i just bought some Verbatim i don't where they were made......by the way anybody know of a place where i can get this cheaper they were 59.99 for a pack of 50 at Sam's Club???.......where can i get one of this multimeters??

I think NewEgg sells the Verbatim for 25.99 for a 20pk. You can get a multimeter at any hardware store.

sams is the cheapest place to get verbs. the only way you will fins some cheaper will be if newegg or some other online retailer has a massive sale going on. you wont find a brick and mortar store that has them for less.

Leerage, it was the discs i just finished burning Fallout 3 on a Verbatim disc and it work good. Thanks for the help.
