all right since i just created this account i cant reply on a old thread that applied to this topic so now i have to create a new thread.

anyway lightning hit my modem and Ethernet port on my xbox 360. so i need to replace it. ive got the box open but i didnt take the board out of the bottom pan. i dont know how to remove the port.

can anyone help me out? how do i remove it? what should i replace it with?

Would think that was near enough impossible to fix. Would recommend the easiest solution would be to get a wifi adapter and get it hooked up to your network that way.

Sorry I cant give a better solution.

well i know you can buy the replacement port on ebay for about $15. but there is three different types.

the board has yellow circles where any screws go, and i can see 4 circles barely sticking out on each corner of the port. so im guessing i will have to take the board out of the bottom pan and unscrew it from the bottom.

the problem is i really dont know how to remove the bottom pan. and if i did get it out what would be involved in getting the port off.

also dont you have to use that port if you are gonna use a wifi

i got it out of the pan and dear god was i wrong. it was all solderd in. :(.
