I know this is probably sounds a bit mad, but I have a desktop with Vista and I cannot flash any boxes, however I just bught a new laptop about 2 months ago also Vista and I have no problem using this to flash boxes. The timing of turning the box on and hitting the start button is critical, if you can almost synchronise both it seem to work fine.
I flash the new firmware unto my kryptview last night. I have to say I was glad I did the remote, which I didn't think was too bad, is infinitely more resposive

I use XP and Vista and never have trouble with either. One is an old laptop with a serial port so no need for an adapter.
I also have a laptop with Vista and use the USB adapter. Its about getting the right driver for the adapter.

Trying to upload new firmware on new kryptview delivered today. This is my second one and had no problems with upload first time around last March. From the downtool symbol press open..OK...press download...OK...press open file...OK..press Kryptview file 19032009 press open...OK... but on the code send page the "file:" box remains empty and my PC says "the downloading is not requested" I went to the latest firmware linke but when I try to download the latest firmware it says the file is not available. Im following the step by step video but I must be doing something wrong. The firmware 19032009 must be in the file box before I press start but it wont go to the box when I press "open"....Help.

Turn the box off from the back switch. Select firmware, press download, then turn box on.
Use the latest firmware 120709.

scOuser... thanks for the guide but still no progress. Have downloaded the bin file 120709 onto my PC. Go through the download sequence but still have the problem on the "file name box" When I press open the bin file Kryptview12072009 does not highlight in the file box and the message comes up "downloading not requested" Tried switching off the power but still no joy. Have a day off today so time not a problem. Need a cup of tea.

Did you get the latest firmware from Eamos? If not it may be in rar/zip format, the one is Eamos is already unpacked.

Downloaded the latest firmware from Eamos links but when I click the 120709 it does not appear in the file box. What should appear in the file box is D:kyptviewsoftware\KRYPTViEW SOFTWARE but what appears in mine is C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Doc. I think here lies the problem. The bin file 120709 when clicked is not visable in the file box hence when I click the start button the message "downloading is not requested" is displayed. I printed off the downloading instructions from the last time and sailed through the set up but this time I am following every detail but this "file box" on the code send page seems to be causing the hassel. As I am not very good with computers and software etc... I will need the "computer guide for dummies" lessons. Thanks in advance

Downloaded the file and loader onto my desktop but still unable to get the bin file 120709 to load into the file box on the "code send" page. This is doing my head in as I had my kryptview box from last March programed within 5 mins

May have a faulty box. Got treee boxes delivered today and have been having trouble loading the firmware on the first box. Tried the other two and had them both upgraded within 10 mins. The first box wont start uploading the 120709 bin file when I switch the unit off to on during the sequence. Has anybody else had this problem. Will have to get on to the manufacturer to see what they will do.

read this from scouser and when u hit download turn switch off at back of box and straight back on
To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow these instructions:
1. Go to the Start Menu
2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
5. Click on "Device Manager"
6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter/null modem cable is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
8. Go back to the loader and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
9. You should be able to download firmware once the correct port is selected.

just to add to the above, I am only getting as far as downloading, the it stops at nearly immediatly, so I am not even getting as far as actually loading the "Loader" due to the restrictions on my computer.

yip or disable it on yer PC for a little while, but if its monitored by a network it will set alarm bells off, you may need to use a different PC to do the job if the above cant be done.

Hi,
Just recently installed latest firware and everything is fine however if I now go to use the epg for specific categories such as sports if I am on Sky Sports 1 and then choose Sky Sports 2 via epg it will take me straight to Info Channel, can anyone help on this or do I use the older firmware?
