Hello,

While I'm trying to update 1.50 > 1.60 with jungleflasher, I pressed yes two times to erase lite-on. But, It's failed. Then I close JF and try again but JF is not detecting liteon drive now.
I have successfully received dummy.bin and key.bin before this upgrade attempt and I have used xbox to power lite on drive.
Xbox can not eject the drive at the moment. When i plug sata cable to xbox, its giving e64.
So, what I have to do now. Can I still use xbox to power liteon drive or I should have a connectivity kit to recover liteon drive.

Thanks.

E64 error is a problem to do with incomatible dvd keys. Wait for leerage to confirm but I think the firmware is erased.

Yes, I think also the firmware has been erased.

I have found some instructions to recover drive from dos.

But I am not sure if I can use xbox to power up drive or I should find a ck3 kit.

Well, if you have the dvd key not much damage could be done. You should be able to use the 360 to power the drive then recover is dos (the ck3 is just easier to use, it offers no extra benefits over powering via xbox). Leerage will be able to help you more, I don't have much experience with liteons.

The reason why JF cannot detect your Drive and why it is not ejecting is because there is no firmware on the drive. To get the drive detected in Jungle flasher you will have to manualy eject the drive half way. to do this, push the bar to the left with a screw driver or somthing to open it.

Keep the drive half opened and connect it to your PC and power it up. In jungle flasher go to MTK Flah 32. Select your I/O port and click on Intro/Device ID. if the drive is succefully detected you will see the Flash chip properties has been filled in. Now go to DVD Key 32 tab, load your dummy file and iXtreme 1.6, spoof it and go back to MTK Flash and click on erase, when erasing is done click on write. wolah you drive is updated =)

Many thanks to all of you.
I will try this about 4 hours later I'm at work now.

Also I have remember what happened after I confirmed erase operation.

JF give an error :

Sending Lite-On-Erase request to port 0xB800

Drive returned Status 0xD0

........................................

Device Intro failed!

Btw,

If I failed in to jungleflasher, how to create new custom firmware (1.6) for my drive (I need while I'm trying to recover frm Dos)

I have dummy.bin (I get this from dummy from ixtreme button while drive connected to PC) & key.bin (Save drive key) and 1.6 firmware

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I'm glad you got your issue resolved. If you have to update your Lite-ON again, once you send the Lite-ON erase, it does what it says and erases the firmware. Sometimes, you might get an invalid status and will need to shut the drive off and try it again. This time, it will say no drive detected simply because there is no firmware. Just re-send the Lite-ON erase and you should get good flash chip properties (0x72, MXIC or Winbond/NEX).

Disconnect the drive and shut down JF. Connect the drive again to same SATA port and start JF again. Re-Send Lite-ON erase to same SATA port and power cycle when prompted.

Thank you. That worked and I got valid info in the Flash Chip Properties. When I continued with loading the dummy, 1.6 and spoofing i went to the mtk flash 32 tab... hit erase and it started reading banks 0-3 then came up with a "Blank test Failed"

Again thank you in advance for your help.

After you get good flash chip properties, all you need to do is hit "WRITE". The firmware has already been erased.

Maybe try a different SATA port. You are getting proper flash chip properties but for some reason the status is 0x80 when it should be 0x72.

I am having a very similar problem and this thread helped a little (at least to ease my fears that I had just bricked my drive). I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Here is my setup/problem -

I got to the erasing the drive part of the tutorial and it wouldn't return a valid ID after several attempts, I am powering my drive from my xbox and it's pretty much impossible to power it on/off in 1 seconds as the guide says and while I have got it in vendor mode a few times I get 0x80 most of the time and even when I got it in vendor mode I didn't get the Device ID at all, so it refused to write.

Eventually the PC froze on my after several attempts and I had to reboot. At this point I accidentally closed the DVD drive but thankfully I read here this should be OK (I used the info here to reopen it half way).

Also every time I turn on the DVD drive or connect it to the PC the PC freezes for about 3 minutes, making the process very painful. To even get into Windows I have to wait until the OS is fully booted and then connect the drive, at which point the PC will freeze for 3 minutes before I can continue.

Then I got to a point where it would no longer even give me enough time to power cycle the drive, it would immediately give me the following info -

Manufacturer ID: 0xFF
Device ID: 0xFF
Flash Name: Unkown Type
Flash Size: N/A

Flash Chip properties

Vendor ID: 0xFF
Device ID: 0xFF

Name: unknown type
Size: N/A
Type: Serial flash with status 0x72

I restarted the PC again and tried again but could not get a valid ID.

I am using Jungleflasher with the Maximus USBXtractor. I did install PORTIO32 correctly (I believe) and am using a PC with a NvVideo Sata board.

I have successfully flashed an Hitachi drive with this setup (minus the Maximus of course) twice in the past.

I had to give up late last night and I am now in a position of having a erased LiteOn drive that I can't flash! blink.gif

Thankfully everything I have read tells me as long as my key dump is fine, (which I think it is as I did it 4 times to make sure) I should be able to get it flashed.

I do have two other computers with Sata inputs that I could try but now the drive is erased it's hard to be sure which port it's on.

Thanks for any help!!!

The easiest way to do it is to unplug the power cord going from the wall to the xbox power brick and quickly plug it back up and turn it on. That should return 0x72 for you.

I have the same problem....firstly restarting xbox will take about 5 sec so yes plugging out the brick switch and putting it back on again is a better solution...but even it didnt gave me status 0x72(managed to power cycle within 1 sec.) I am stick to 0x80 and my drive isnt detected by the jungleflasher(drive is half way opened).
Dont know what to do..maybe buying sata controller and trying with it instead onboard sata ports would help...? Using onboard sata ports make my pc to freeze about 3-5 min.
