everytime i try to click on RAW dump firmware as... it says "you must insert a movie or game dvd on the gdr3120l and wait 20 seconds after inserting it, before continue" even though i have a movie in there!

id also like to note that this hitachi is foreign to my mobo. could this be the problem? but im trying to get the hitachi key so i can figure out which fw to put on it.

please help im stuck here and I dont know what to do.

also in jungleflasher it says "no comports found during enumeration"

could these somehow be related? if not I still need help with both problems....

Insert a game or movie and let it sit for 20 seconds, then click dump.

that doesnt work. i have a movie in it. i wait 20 seconds and then press dump and it says i need to put in a movie or game dvd.

Try the classic dump option. Also, have you got the drive into Mode B?

yes i do but my friend just told me that the drive had an open tray error. is this the problem?

Yeah, either the laser is bad or it isn't strong enough. You could try increasing the laser strength with a POT Calibration of the laser.

What ROM Version is the Hitachi? You might be able to dump the Key in Jungle Flasher via the Classic dump method.
