Download BootMii (Make a Nand backup and store it on to your computer) and Preloader.

Both links are in my sigs

And you will be all set! Note Please search how to use these programs, there are tons of responds regarding to this...thanks!

FYI: Way to go asking how to prevent bricks before it happens so kiddo's to you.

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

I have a 4.0 wii that I modded 100% in accordance with larry's guide.

I was unable to install bootmii to boot2, so here is what I did;

I installed preloader .29
I then installed BootMii as an ios.

Then I used BootMii (executed through HBC on the 'exit' menu) to make a backup of the nand file, and stored that backup on my computer hard drive.

Now - in the event of a wii system problem - I can hold down the reset button as I power on my wii and get to the preloader menu, where I can start HBC to launch BootMii in order to restore my wii with my backed-up nand file.

Have I stated things correctly?

How do you enable 'skip updates' with preloader .29? I searched through the settings, but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance.
