I am trying to flash a liteon drive for a friend. He bought this connectivity kit from ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Connectivity-kit-V3-...93%3A1|294%3A50

I tried using the larger of the two boards included. I connected the power on the board to power supply in my PC. I connected the power from the liteon drive to the board. I connected the sata from my computer to the liteon drive. I connected the VGA to the back of my computer and cliped the alligator clip to the frame and used the probe to touch the R707 hole in the next paragraph.

Using jungle flasher, I set up everything to see the xbox and opened tray half and turned on board. I touched the probe to R707 and clicked "Get key. create dummy.bin. open as source" on jungleflasher. This resulted in:
...........Serial Data is bad,

Any help with this problem?

Do you have the right COM port selected?

Edit - You need to clip the alligator clip to the voltage regulator of the connectivity kit.

I edited my last post. You need to have the alligator clamp connected to the voltage regulator.

Definitely follow the tutorial though.

You have to disconnect the molex power, then apply the alligator clamp, then reconnect the molex power.
