Hi. I wanted to ask if anyone else is having problems with this guy?
I bought 20 starview 4 boxes from him 3 weeks ago. They eventually arrived yesterday. I really had to push this guy to send the boxes, i thought he was going to keep my money, he is a foul mouthed idiot.
I powered on all 20 to make sure they were working and 3 of them had a 8882 error from being powered on. Contacted the guy & he basically told to me p**s off. He accused me of installing the software incorrectly. I did not even get to that stage of installing any software.
Let this be a lesson to be learned. They state 12 months warranty. The warranty is good enough to wipe your ar*e with & flush it down the toilet.
I met him on a well known forum, he goes by the name of MRMEAKS.
MRMEAKS if your reading this, no one is untouchable.

Colm, check with your credit card company, I know I got purchase protection against defective goods. You could also ask them to try a chargeback as goods werent as described.

I'd dispute the payment with the credit card company.
Try dealing with skywonder in future, great to deal with, no lies, no shipping delays, etc

I don't want to rub salt into your wounds but I would strongly suspect those boxes are clones,..the new fix for SV4 USB is also a clone killer so be careful.

if they are clones then you even have a stronger case for a refund as the good werent genuine, same way if you bought a bag and it was a fake one, you have comeback, if you pay by paypal open a dispute now and dont delay

Hi Guys
Thank you all for taking the time to offer such great advise.
I am at work right now, so will check to see if they are clones when i get home. By the way, how can i identify them as being clones? Do i have to install the latest software on them, and learn the hard way?

the clone comes in a lighter shade of box if you have two outer boxes side by side you will notice differance

Why do people buy from these sort of sites.
Such as:

www.Freecable4u.com
www.starview4daboyz.co.uk lol
Just by the name of the site you can tell is some idiot low end trader.
Buy from reputable sites.

Firstly I dont know who you are but as you say I am registered on a forum as MRMEAKS. I only use the forum for information and the forum is ran and owned by my best friend. I have never posted or communicated with anyone on that forum you can even check the user stats to prove this.
I have now signed up to here to sort out this slander.
1. NEVER have we refused to resolve a problem for a customer. If you get an 8882 error we offer to fix the error and reinstate the box to the original firmware for free! we also provide the option to purchase the fix adapter and software required if you wanted to do it yourself. - ANY FAULTY RECEIVER WILL BE REPLACED within the 12 month period under warranty.
2. We never swear or abuse customers it is not only unprofessional but unproductive as it causes people to loose faith.
3. We are one of the only legitimarte businesses that sell these receivers, we are VAT registered and give a full address and phone number on our website and have a showroom you can visit.
4. We have NO RECORD of ever selling to a Colm Durkin.
5. We are authorised distributors of the Starview range and have very close ties with the main importer so WE DO NOT SELL CLONES!!
6. Have you ever seen another legitimate complaint about our company?
Mr Durkin are you sure you have the right retailer?? I erge you to call me for free on 0800 0439824 between Monday and Friday between 10am and 5pm and we will be happy to help resolve this issue but you will need proof of purchase eg. a purchase date and last four digits of your credit card or a website order number.
We pride ourselves on our customer service and the FACT that WE DO NOT SELL CLONES.
Finally if this is a dig from another low class retailer that is jealous of our success in seling these particular receivers that was way under the belt!
I would also thank all our customer for their continuing support and their help in telling us when people are spreading false rumours on the web.

I have just checked about and I apologise I am registered on 2 forums under mrmeaks on one all I have done is advertise the 8882 fix adapter that we sell on our site. No other communication has taken place.

Thank you I just get annoyed when people give you greif for something you haven't done. Sometimes we do have delivery delays but this is due to import delays and the demand for the receivers. The site is updated to show whether they are in stock or preorder. I admit we make mistakes like all do and am happy to resolve these in an amicable fashion hopefully keeping the customer as happy as possible. But I can't even find this chap in the customer list for the website so does make me wonder if it is another retailer.

I have to say in support of Theboxdisi ordered 3 Thebox usb`s from this man 2 weeks ago on a Saturday A.M.On (acknowledged E-Mail received on Monday)Tuesday i E-mailed him for a time frame for my package due to holidays plans, Received an E-Mail back within 2 hours,Explaining that he was taking in stock that afternoon and would be delivered presently, Arrived on Thursday to Dublin Ireland.
While i know they are defunct over here i just want to put in my two cents worth on behalf.
My Whole dealing was professional and courteous

I've ordered 4 or 5 times off Martin, I've always found him to be helpful and honest. I had a delay on one order but after I contacted him he told me exactly when they would arrive and they did.
His site normally states if the product is in stock, if not when it is due in. My last order was placed on friday at 1645hrs and arrived tuesday am.
I would recommend this seller from my experience

I have also bought from Martin on 3 seperate occasions and had no major problems with him. There was a delay on the 1st & 2nd occasion (7 & 5 days) but he did inform me before I made my purchase (I phoned to ask if the boxes were in stock). On the 3rd occasion I ordered on a Wednesday before 2pm and it arrived the next day.

got to agree here martin is a top bloke i've bought several hundred boxes from him over the last year and never once had a clone he's also by far and away the cheapest seller so why do people go anywhere else to buy the only problem i had was a weeks delay once when the goods were stuck in customs at heathrow and 1 box with 8882 that was returned exchanged and redelivered within a week and he's also a really helpfull guy on the end of the phone always time for a chat and bits of advice anybody ever wants a reccomendation as to where to buy i always give martins number
