So 4.1 is out, and people are getting scared, but honestly... This update is a good thing!
Quote:Nintendo has released official WiiFirmware v4.1 in North America. This update is apparently safe to install, as it is a bugfix whereby if a VC/WiiWare game is played from SD, and then Wii Sports Resort is played, it forces you to watch the motionplus tutorial, although it was meant to be only watched once, on the first run.
Here is the run down, if you do the official update to 4.1 you pretty much won't see a difference in your HomeBrew. Some people have reported that their Wii will not accept Trucha Signed games after updating to 4.1 Well... Here is your fix!
Quote:[ DESCRIPTION ]:
- This application allows you to update your console's firmware, installing *only* the
most important updates (System IOS, System Menu, new channels...).
Thanks to this you can keep some features like Trucha bug that affected first IOS
versions.
[ REQUISITES ]:
- 150-250 free blocks.
- Internet connection.
[ HOW TO USE ]:
- Run the application with any method to load homebrew and the update will be done
automatically
Run this installer, and you will get all the good things about 4.1 and avoid the bad.
There are some things to note, just for safety.
- If you have a Wii Theme installed, it is suggested to revert back to the original Wii theme, it can result in a Simi-Brick. The reason for this, the custom theme you have installed is meant for 4.0 or whatever FW you are on. Updating to 4.1... Well you get the idea. You have a theme that is not meant for 4.1
- It is suggested to remove any GameCube Controllers or Memory Cards
- Do not turn off the Wii in the middle of the install. (DERP DERP)
- No matter how much you hate the color Grey, please control yourselves from ripping the power cord from the socket during the install.
