I softmodded my Wii using Larry's guide. I was using the guide to dump my games using wii dumber 1.2 however I don't like using this method. It takes forever and my router likes to crap out on me. I tried using an sd card but its only 1gb so that method sucks too.

I read that you can rip games using certain LG drives is that true? I use DVDRDL drive to backup my 360 games. Is there something similar for the wii? If so is there a tutorial?

Oh my wii is from launch day and has software 4.0U

Or you can try superdump (links in my sig) it only takes half a hour. (You use your Wii)

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

Yeah, did you even read the 1st paragraph of the 1st post in the thread?????

"GameCube and Wii games may be ripped using a DVD-ROM and either Rawdump 2.0 (see this thread), or FriiDump. Only DVD-ROM drives have been reported to work for ripping. Any DVD Writer can be used to burn. The DVD-ROM drives that rip are all manufactured by LG Electronics or H-L Data Storage, but are sold under various brand names (see the list below). The specific ripper drive models that I have confirmed myself are GDR-8082N, 8161B, 8162B, 8163B, 8164B, (see next post for details). "

It still doesn't say how to do it. It just tells you what programs to use. It doesn't matter anyway because Zork gave some good advice and I followed it.
