Hi everyone, my first post- sorry it's had to be a question. I changed a NTSC iso 'The Bigs 2' into a PAL iso using both Regionfree and Wiigionfree. I then burnt it onto a Verbatim dvd-r with Imgburn at 1x speed. I then loaded the disc into my pal wii (3.1e firmware) and i noticed it was in the process of updating the wii, i stopped it. My question is can I allow this update? I have a Drivekey installed with the setting on block updates from imports. I have NO homebrew installed and haven't had any trouble in the past with burning iso's and then playing them off disk but i couldn't get 'The Bigs 2'past the 'black screen' the first time i burnt it (without using Regionfree and or Wiigionfree) thats why this time i tried it with them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Rule of thumb: At ANYTIME you do not update from a different region game. It doesn't matter if you convert it or not, the update it self will contain the update of a different region.

If you load games from a backup launcher (use Neogamma) , it will skip the update and go directly to the game itself. Or if you really want to be safe, install homebrew and then install preloader. There is a setting in preloader that you can skip the updates.

Check the links in my sig, it has all the links you need. (Except for homebrew)

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

Use WiiBrickBlocker.

It is an application similar to regionfrii and it patches the ISO to disable the update on the disc.
