Hi guys,

Been a massive long time user of Afterdawn, but ownly as a reader. The things I've learned from these forums have helped so much, so thanks for all the effort you guys always put in.

But now I need to actually POST! (Who'd imagine, on a forum?!?) I have scoured google, and have come up trumps. I have tried my best to burn/backup a 360 game, I have ran the ISO/DVD file through abgx360 and all has come back a-Okay, burned to DVD+R DL (aone brand) at 2.4x speed with IMGBURN, using tutorials on this site, sadly though the game will not play on my xbox. Just launches as if it were a DVD with no image (360 Logo appears on screen with DVD options at bottom)

After seeing this, I ran abgx360 and checked the burned DVD and see the yellow error message; Error Reading DVD, followed by; the SS media could not be compared to the XeX and the same for DMI media.

Any ideas what is happening? One thing that I am unsure of is do you require a SATA-DVD + DL burner? Mine is IDE and my motherboard does not have a SATA connection (I actually have a new spare DVD DL burner with sata connection in a draw)

Any ideas, help or tips obviously are much appreciated.

Cheers guys, and Hi Afterdawn :)

Have you setup ABGX as described in the turorial in the sticky? If so, it may be the media you are using.

Also a few other questions, Have you played backups on your Xbox before OK? What Firmware are you using and what game are you trying to burn?

You can defo use a IDE burner as I use one with no issues.

Yes, my abgx360 is correct set up, word for word as instructred from this site

It sounds like it may be the media you are using, try using Vertabims so if that helps

If you have played new releases on there, you will either have a non stealthed firmware or > iExtreme 1.51 Firmware. However as Transformers is a old game so doesn't matter anyway.

The Firmware is loaded on to your DVD drive and this allows it to play back up games.

If you are using below firmware iExtreme 1.51, you wont be able to play recent games. You mention your trying to burn Transformer, If you are trying to burn Transformers 2 : Revenge of the fallen , this this is a wave 3 title I belive so you will need iExtreme 1.51 or above

Also, you may want to look at this recent thread regarding the same media you are using Linkie

Right I have checked, my 360 is currently already playing Wave 3 Tittles, so that's not a problem, so it's in the burning of the actual backup.

It this 100% the cause, the media I am using then you think?

As I say, I am burning using IMGBURN following the tutorial 100%, my ABGx360 is configured to the tutorial exactly (Could you pass me a link to the stick you said? Make sure I am using the same one as you recomend) You say using a IDE drive is not the issue.. so what's it looks like aone DVD DL's are the problem?

Follow the instructions on Here to setup ABGX, It not word for word as is not based on the latest version of ABGX but it will get you setup. Make sure your using the latest ABGX (1.01 I think)

It does sound like the media as you've covered everything else. Could however be a bad Image, have you tried to burn another image with the same media

and another thing it could be which everyone seems to miss out on these forums is that it could be your burner itself. As the xbox prefers the games to be in DVD-ROM state most dvd burners will actually burn your disc as DVD+R DL.

I know this is fact as i have the same problem. patch image fine, then check burned dvd and its screwed up. And this is with using the so called best media to use Verbatims. And everything is set up correctly and was burned correctly yet the thing still screws up.

I personally have ordered a new DVD burner as a friend of mine from another forum suggested that it could well be the burner. Only £25 quid so not much cash at all to test his thoery lol.
