hi there,

im going to be getting a wii and wanting to chip it but so far am very confused on how im ment to run the games once downloaded and what to do on chipping it was thinking of just buying one that was already chiped any help at all would be great thanks.

Just a thought... why bother spending the money on a chip if all you want to do is play backup games? You can easily do this for free by soft modding your Wii.

I would also reccommend following the above guide and softmodding your Wii. I have both a modded wii with chip and softmodded wii without a chip and they both work the same. Mod chips cost money and unless you can solder really well they can be difficult to install.
Softmodding is free and as long as you follow the instructions the chances of damaging the console is much less with a softmod versus mod chip. Unless of course you are really good at soldering.

The softmod is nothing to be scared of. It works great, and the folks that have put it together have made it the most professional softmod I have seen. Hell half the installers download the files for you via wifi as you are installing. That is crazy for a free software hack. Try it out. You wont regret it.

Just go slow and follow the instructions. Dont skip steps and dont alter the order of the instructions and you will be fine.

I also reccommend following the guide at the bottom that shows you how to run your games from the disc channel as opposed to using the backup loader channels.
