How long till a Wii price cut?

There have been rumors from analysts and what not that a price cut for the Wii may be coming in the fall but you can't really trust what they say. I got an Xbox 360 a few months back so I'm not looking for another console right now but when can we expect a Wii price drop? It's been at $250 US/$280 CDN since launch even though the production cost went down over 40%. My guess is it probably won't drop in price this year due to the high (but diminishing) demand but hopefully they won't wait too long for a cut.

I'm mainly interested in the Wii because 1) playing backups is much less of a nuisance on the Wii and carries less risk and 2) the library is pretty good (despite what self-proclaimed hardcore gamers say). No one says you have to play the shovelware. Just ignore that and play the quality titles. #1 is important because with the 360, you can get banned from Live for playing backups and you void your warranty by flashing the console (which is risky for a system that is notorious for breaking down). And obviously with the PS3, you can't play backups at all. But I've heard that you can play backups online with a softmodded Wii no problem with no risk of a ban and the Wii seems reliable enough that you don't have to worry about the 1 year warranty getting voided by softmodding the system. However I do see lots of instances on this forum of people accidentally bricking their Wii so that is one concern.

You seem to have answered your own question.

If you're asking for opinions, mine is that there won't be a price cut until they start stacking up on the shelves. Although there is no longer any shortage, demand is still keeping up with supply. In other words, maybe Christmas to take advantage of holiday sales, otherwise not until mid-2010.
