My issue is I use HP DVD+Rs, I use the latest NeoGamma r6 loader to play backups and i burn with img burn

I was able to play a backup of Mario Kart just fine absolutely no problems I burned it at 3x speed in img burn.

Then I tried to play a backup of one of my imports from Japan.
I don't know what it is but I everytime I play it the loading speeds are slow and the game's audio skips alot and certain sequences skip or pause for 5 secs when they should play smooth but at least it is playable.

I've used 3 discs trying to fix this problem
I burned it at 4x speed the first time
Burned it at 3x speed the second time
I even downloaded a copy of the game and burned that with the same issue

The only possible problems that I can narrow down is that either i have to burn the game at 2x speed or my DVD+R discs can't be used for this game or my wii just has a problem playing it. So could it be the burning speed, the discs or the wii idk

IDK if it helps but the game im trying to play in One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Ep1(NTSC-J)plays on NeoGamma R2 under default settings. Does everything good except for skips in combat during and after transformations and choppy sound during cutscenes

i have read that it is because the cIOS file you are using is limited to reading the game disc at only 3x instead of the 6x that the wii is supposed to read at.

Due to this some games will skip during the cutscenes. Not sure how to fix this or if there is even a fix.

The guy that wrote the softmod guide seems familiar with it. Maybe you'll get lucky and he will respond. OR you could search through the forums here for related content.

I have been burning my back up copies on sony dvd-r for months now and has been working fine.
I am using the softmod wifi version to get my iso file, then using ImgBurn to make my copy. The older the game the more luck. I have tried about 10 different games (all 2009 release) with no luck, but no issues with older games.
I originally had the media error and went through all sorts of disks. my sony disks work fine from before, but as I said...the newer games successfully become an iso, but will not play.

can one of the masters maybe look into seeing if the issue is not with us users but maybe the 4.0 update on the wii?

Well I just tried Ep2 of the One piece game series I mentioned before I brick blocked it, burned it at 4x speed in ImgBurn with a HP DVD+R and tried it out. Other than the loading times being about 1.5x slower than normal the game plays flawlessly cutscenes and sequences are normal. The thing is that Ep2 just came out in like February this year. Ep1 came out a yr ago... The only difference I made was when I used brickblocker I made it show me the details of the game I was patching, I forgot to do that with Ep1. I honestly don't think that little difference actually makes a difference with playback but Im no expert and I could be wrong. Could that be it? Or do u think changing discs may be the solution

I followed the same softmod guide and I am also on FW 4.0u and all my 2009 games play just fine. There are a few titles that will not load up via the USB Launcher, but the game plays just fine if burned to a disc.

Many a user out there is running FW 4.0 with no issues loading up never 2009 backups.

are you sure you are using the most current cIOS file? If not some of the 2009 games may not load.

Did you follow the part of the softmod guide that discusses loading backups from the disc channel? This process installs CiosCorp and before i did those steps I did have a few games that were newer that would not load from the backup launcher channel.

AS soon as i did the guide that talked about allowing backups to load from the disc channell these same games loaded up just fine.

If games arent loading, it is most likely your game, your disc, or your cIOS file that is causing the issue. The nintendo FW updates to my knowledge do not usually stop certain games from loading but rather stop homebrew applications from being used.

As stated above the cIOS has a 3X speed limitation. So audio, intro and cutscenes can be choppy. There is really no way around this. Your best bet is to get a USB hard Drive and boot them with a USB Loader which actually has faster load times then the normal 6X speed.

jen7788, start your own thread as hijacking another member's thread is a forum rule no no.
