Hey guys really odd situation here....
I am trying to flash my friends Hitachi-47 drive. Ive loaded up the latest JungleFlasher and the I/O port is installed and running.
I go to the Hitachi tab, set the drive to modeb and know its in modeb because I have to press eject twice on the CK3. The weird thing now is that the drive doesnt show on the top right corner in the select drive list!
This is so odd, never had a problem with flashing drives I remember flashing a Hitachi-45 was pretty straight forward...
I have tried the different ports on my sata-card but still no luck.
Any ideas would be great guys, driving me mad!!! ta!

After you get the drive into Mode B, in the upper right hand corner, click "refresh" a couple of times.

Is this a Hitachi47-DJ issue???

Have tried with the CK3 both blue and red LEDs showing. Still have to go into modeb through JungleFlasher so thought I would try both.
Anyone have a successful step by step with this drive? Really cant see what I am doing wrong, all other drives flash fine!

What type of SATA chipset are you using?
Can you post a log of when you try to get this drive recognized please.

I am using a VIA VT6421A pci card. Before I attempted to flash the Hitachi drive I successfully flashed a LiteOn and a BenQ so im guessing the kit is in working order still.
Sorry, Im not home at the moment so cant post the log, but from memory it all shows good until the modeb part where it says
'Refreshing devices' (or something like that)
'Found 2 hardrives C,D,'
'Found 1 CD drive E' (thats my burner)
'Hitachi not detected'
no matter how many times ive hit refresh nothing happens.
Ive tried the Slax2.1 method, disabling/enabling the RAID in device manager but still no luck....

I have the best luck using WinAPI when flashing the Hitachi. If you have removed the VIA driver, go ahead and install the 5.30c driver. It will require a manual install by searching for the .INF file.
Here is a link to the 5.30c driver:
VIA 5.30c Driver
Once you get that installed, reboot PC. Load up JF and make sure WinAPI is selected under the Hitachi tab. Eject the drive and get it into Mode-B. Wait 20-30 seconds or so and click refresh. I just did a 79 and I had to hit refresh 3 times.

leerage it worked!!!!
I uninstalled the PortIO driver, installed the VIA driver you gave me, and rebooted pc.
I had to set modeb directly from the CK3 kit as now JF wont find the drive (think it wants to work with PortIO?)
But the beauty of it was that I didnt have to set modeb in JF, the drive just came up on windows and in the list!
Thank you very much! Now I know that I will have to use the VIA drivers to get anywhere with Hitachis!
:o)

I'm glad it worked for you. :)
Go ahead and re-install the PortIO driver as you will need that when reading/flashing BenQ/Lite-ON/Samsung. Next time that you want to do any 3 of those drives you will have to do this:
1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys".
3. Re-enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.
Then, if you have to do another Hitachi, you will have to restore that "viamraid.sys" file back to the drivers folder and reboot the PC. Restoring that driver will allow you to use WinAPI.
