If a game is PAL but says its "region free" can I still play it on my USA 360?

Also if it will play is this "safe" for XBL.

Any help would be awesome.

If I may add to my post.

A certain backup I'm trying to find has several different versions.

The NTSC one is missing some files. The PAL version appears to be fine but says its Region Free. So which is it? Can I play ?

if it says it's region free you can play on any 360

if not then you can't

It just means the ISO of the game originated from a PAL region. If it is Region Free, you can play it on your NTSC.

Technically it should be OK because you could have a game imported from a PAL region.
