Homebrew Channel after update..Help!

After updating the Homebrew Channel it will not work,all I got was a black Screen.
So after looking at lots of forums and suggestions I un-installed the Homebrew Channel and tried to re-install with what I had on my SD card..Downloaded the Hackmii to card and still no joy..any ideas where I am going wrong..
My firmware is 3.2e.

maybe you should try upgrading to FW 4.1

the new and improved WII softmod guide recommends upgrading to 4.0/4.1 before completing the softmod.
