missing channels on dreambox

just wondering could anyone help me out.just flashed a dreambox the lazy way by using the back-up img with hypercam.the problem i'm having now is that some channels are still missing.while i'm grateful for the ones i have,i'm flashing the box for a friend and he really wants playhouse disney for the kids but thats one of the missing channels along with most of the movie channels.the signal does seem to be lower on the missing ones.generally between 85-90% compared to 94% on the working channels.

Try scanning with dublin - Ireland Ntl it seemed to get all the channels for me while the others like ntl ireland bruteforce and ntl cable ie didnt

cheers for the reply so soon.i tried dublin nthell already but got nothing in.the only one that works is nthell bruteforce.i'd say i have about 70% of the channels working but sometimes when i flick on to a channel that works,when i go back to it its not working anymore!do ye think if i flash the dk 1.1 img and ftp the 3 files it would make a difference? already tried a factory reset.

just tried dublin-ireland ntl there again but getting the message 'all known transponders have been tried,but no lock was possible.verify antenna/cable setup'

when using the ftp method do i need to disable other networks and turn windows firewall off? can't connect to the dreambox using crossover cable with both filezilla and flashfxp.i've flashed dbox with the cable before so it's ok.

that sounds like a weak signal to me try it with no splitter on the ling you should get them

sorry for the late reply hadmad.i have no splitter on the line.the cable comes directly from the main nthell socket.i have flashed lots of different boxes from the same line and never had any signal issues.when my own box(starview pvr)finally went the picture quality from the nthell cable wasnt great so i fitted a new co-axial plug and it helped.

just tried bf uk.got the exact same result.looks like the same channels are missing?? all the disney channels,sky movies-action,comedy,drama,family,indie,sky news are most of those not working.sky comedy for example has a signal of 86% which isn't bad considering some of the working chnls have similar signal strength yet it won't come in.do you think if i ftp'd the files across myself along with dk 1.1 things could be better??

i dont think so i think its a sinalg prob or a bad turner in that picticurl box can you try the box some were else

A friend had the same problem, his cable was feeding 3 other tv's 2 with boxes, even though the problem one was first in line, when he disconnected everything else ,it solved the problem, his end result was to buy a signal booster, the booster worked for him but doesn't always with dreamboxes. its a tricky one but as hadmad said ,it does seem like a signal strength issue.
( could always call the cable co' and explain !!!! )

thanks for the help lads.i'm flashing the box for a m8 so i'll go to his and scan in the chnls there and fingers crossed!nothing worse than fixing other peoples boxes when your own is still useless!!!

hows it goin lads.sorry about the late reply.only got the chance to hit the m8s place today.anyway yis were right about the signal.didnt even have to do a rescan and all the chnls were there.tanx again!!
