Why don't you rent Wii sports resort and also rent the Motion plus. Then you will know.

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

Trying it yourself is the only way to know for sure before buying, kind of like what Zork was saying.

As of right now only 4 games use it. However there is likely to be a game in the future that you really want that uses it.

So right now your choice is between
Wii Sports Resort (if I remember correctly you can't get passed the "insert wii motion plus" screen without it)
Grand Slam Tennis
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
Virtua Tennis 2009

All sports games. I can say that it does work. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10's disc golf is evidence, Wii Sports Resort's sword game is evidence that the tracking is just as if your hand was in the game.

But the majority of what you will be doing in those 4 games won't involve moving the Wii remote freely like how you can move it in those two examples that I gave. You'll mainly be swing a golf club or swinging a tennis racket. So now may not be the time to get it if you really wanted to be wowed by it but it definitely does make a difference.

Not only does Wii Motion Plus enhance the game movement for compatible games it also fixed my issue with my nun-chuck always disconnecting with the normal Wiimote.

Connecting the Wii Motion Plus to the Wiimote then the nun-chuck fixes my issue. It is so nice to be able to play all my games now without the damn nun-chuck disconnect error message coming up on the screen all the time.

I haven't used it yet, but I have one in the mail. I imagine a good amount of games will REQUIRE it in the future to even play. Just look at Wii Sports Resort. If you do not have the Wii Motion Plus connected to the Wii Controller, you can not start the game - no way around that.... (if there is, someone please let me know)!!

Basically, Nintendo can make some extra cash ($20 - $40) easy knowing that you'll need at least one motion plus just to work with the new games, and probably want to buy a second one so you can play with company.

They're smarter than they look. They know their game systems is F***'d when it comes to being pirated now, but they can still make money by forcing the pirates to at least by some new hardware... at least until someone figures out how to bypass the wii motion plus check at the beginning of the games anyways.

Whatelse thats exactly what Im gettin at, what I have to spend a extra 20euro just to play a game.

Thats like saying there bringing out a michael jackson game and you have to spend 30euro on a white glove just to play the game.

Ive bought a Nintendo even time Zelda Comes Out. Call me mad. But Zelda rocks.

It's marketing, nothing more. It probably makes games a little bit better or more responsive, but won't be a life chaning experience.

However, Nintendo will most likely be releasing new games in the future that will required it (like they do now with Wii Sports Resort). Basically, in my opinion, Wii users won't have much choice, but to buy it eventually if they want to play "good" games.

So what though... you have to spend $20 for one. I know everyone says they aren't pirating games (only using legal backups) but you'd be a retard to believe that. Nintendo is losing money to piracy so they've found a new way to get some more revenue through hardware instead.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could replace your 4 Wii remotes with 4 new remotes with these upgrades right in them. Or exchange (that would be the best). Nintendo's hard ware is out of date and need an upgrade. Who knows when Wii 2 will be out. Could be 2-3 years out I have even hear roomers of the big tree going to a 10 year cycle. We will see.

Look at Rock Band, Guitar Hero, many a Dance Dance Revolution type game, Wii Fit, EA Sports Fitness etc etc, they all have peripherals that cost extra. Other makers do it too, Sony with Buzz Quiz games its just a way of fleecing us for more money.

Fleecing is a harsh way of putting it.

When you go buy a new car do you class Bluetooth, mp3 capability, remote starter, Alloy wheels and AC as ways of fleecing for more money or as a nice bonus that you pay for if you want them?

To me these extra's add enjoyment to the games by putting you more in the action.

I will certainly be buying motion plus it looks great to me and I am only hoping it works like it is supposed to...i.e. making the wiimote a 360 degree remote instead of having to just be pointed at the screen.

It's harsh, but very accurate! This is something that should have been included in the original system, not as an add-on that people have to pay more for. It's a money grab... plain and simple. I for one will not be purchasing any more Nintendo systems/accessories nor will I promote them... I will however be promoting modding anybody's console for free if they want it! The more people I can stop from buying another Nintendo game the better I'll feel! lol

Well thats ignorant, I will always buy a game if I play it more than 10 minutes. I have to support these people Im a gamer. One day gaming is going to suck ass with all this pirating going on. Dont get me wrong Im not dissing you for it and I know 50 bucks is alot of cash to just throw down all the time but one day in the future we are gonna have to go threw extremes to even get our games to play. Prolly some type of call to activate type thing even on consoles.

As for motion plus the only reason it exists is because they know that there "Motion gaming" wasnt motion gaming it was Waggle gaming and ppl were starting to call them out on it. After they saw natal and Ps3's motion they knew they would have to do something.

Motion plus is NOT perfect but I bought 2 and Im happy with them.

I bought the Motion Plus and found it to be amazing. It adds another level to the wii's already good IR tracking.. the Accelerometer.

An accelerometer measures the acceleration it experiences relative to freefall.

If you watch the developers youtube video for the Grand Slam Tennis you will see how every movement you have in real life is mirrored 1:1 in game.

The biggest thing I notice on improvement is turning your wrist. Image being able to put a spin on the ball in tennis or ping pong.

You can attach and un-attach the motion plus very quickly and it doesn't add much weight.

Red Steel 2 is being developed exclusively for motion plus and looks amazing.

The device is only $25. With all the money you've saved on backups- do you really need to cry over added functionality for such a low price?
