If some one asked this already I'm sorry. I looked but did not find anything on the topic if you could point me in the right place....

Okay so I flashed my hitachi with the wire trick.. anyways I burned The orange box with IMGBurn and when I put it in my Xbox it says reading for a min then says Open Tray. I was cheap and got a pack of Memorex but I have some Verbatim's coming Friday. What Im asking is is it the disc thats making it go right to the open tray or is it that the flash did not work? Should I wait to friday and try them disc or just go reflash it. I am burning it right now with clone cd to see if that works... thanks for any help O and yes it will play my real xbox 360 games with no problem

O and one more thing not changing my booking thing will that hurt the burn since i have a lighton drive in my computer that I cant change for some reason and the program DVDInfoPro I guess will not work for me.

its the discs. if it was a bad flash it would say 'put this disc in an xbox 360 console' or 'play dvd' open tray error shows that the console is recognizing the disc but cant read it. usually due to a laser going out, or crappy media; and in your case i would go with crappy media since you stated you are using memorex.

Using good media like Verbatim is always a plus, but Hitachi drives are notorious for this problem. The laser is not strong enough to read through the dye of the disc. You can wait for the Verbatims and see if they will help. If it has the same issue, you will need to do a POT calibration on the laser. Fairly easy to do, you only need a multimeter that can read 20k ohms.

We are thinking the same thing wabashman.. lol

thanks... I just tried the same thing with the game burned with clone cd and it was the same. I will wait for the new disc and try it if that does not work should I just buy a replacement DVD drive for XBox 360

You could do the POT calibration and get it working.

Or buy a BenQ and spoof your info to it.

Yup, just buy the benq, and safe yourself the hassle.

I went through same process you did:
-Had a flashed 47
-Bought memorex discs at radioshack because I couldn't wait for my verbs. they didn't work.
-Got the verbs, games worked about 50% of the time, so I kept doing the POT calibration until I couldn't any more.
-Bought a benq drive: Now it all works flawlessly.

Okay I seen another "how to" and see that you dont have to do that I dont know what I was looking at.

Well last night I did the Pot Calibration a little bit and when I hooked it back up it now said the game is dirty. So I did it again and turned it up I guess a little to much now its doing it again with the open try so I am guessing it is the drive laser that don't like me lol

Make sure you don't over do it as you will butn out your laser. I would suggest waiting for the Vertabims, then doing the POT calibration only using the recommended settings.
