Hi there i know your proberly really fedup with this thread.I wanted to know is it worth buying a external drive with kreon firmware already installed?Or is this a waste of money all i want to do is backup my original games.I can already do a backup from a backup and i have a flashed 360 elite.Any step by steps or help would be much apprieciated

No you don't need a kreon drive!! Big misconception here. It's so easy to backup a game without a useless kreon
Please take the time to register at the forum below as they have the absolute best picture tutorial on how to backup a game WITHOUT KREON DRIVE.
You only need a dual layer DVD burner. How do you find out? On the face plate of your dvd drive you sound see a little DL somewhere on it.

Useless you say ? interesting considering i've made over 100 backups that work without fail yet thru this forum there are posters so numerous all crying as to why their iso they downloaded from a torrent don't work,so how about no one signs up to your website & you explain in THIS forum as to why it's useless to use a kreon instead of trolling for new members

Yes get a kreon if you want to make backups of your own games the only other way of doing so requires attaching the 360 drive to the computer to read the game disc,there's tuts round here that confirm what i say,however to play newer games your 360 needs to be flashed with the latest ixtreme firmware update 1.6 otherwise the game read by the 360 will fail,it just comes back with play dvd i have 4 games that my 360 can't play till i update it..lol..

You're telling people to buy something they don't need. Ripping a game without a kreon is so damn easy. Buying a kreon takes time and money - time to order it from online or find the right drive in a shop and money to buy the drive. Ripping without a kreon is FREE and literally only takes two minutes longer.
The website I posted is NOT mine. It is a forum just like this one. I was just trying to genuinely help the guy without forcing the idea that he has to buy a whole new piece of hardware to do something that can easily be achieved with what he has.
I think it's pretty sad the information you are spreading around, the kreon drive is useless because it's an extra piece of hardware and money spent that is TOTALLY unnecessary.

Then explain this fantastic method that doesn't require a "useless kreon" oh wait there's only 1 other way & it requires you to strip the 360 risking damage to it if your not careful

Why do you keep spamming the same crap over and over? Kreon = useless... someone gave you some $hit info.
The main idea of ripping your own games is to know you have a legit copy. Using wxRipper is useless when it comes to that.

Hi people didnt mean to start a war as far as i know it is the latest firmware ive been playing ghost busters and gta 4 on it.Of which these are back ups i do have a dual layer on my computer.But i just come up against so many different ways of doing it.I just want the quickest and cheapest if there is such a thing many thanks.

You didn't start anything.
cheapest = any pc drive
quickest and most safe for LIVE = Kreon drive (easier than wxRipper) or your 360 drive, 0800 enabled.
Hands down, the most recommended method would be to spend the ~$40 and buy the Kreon drive.

Sorry, but how is ripping with WXRipper and stealthing with abgx360 any less safe than ripping with a kreon drive??? If you can answer this I'll gladly accept defeat but if you can't then stop spreading you little psuedoknowledge around on this board. Are you a Kreon salesman or something?

thanks for that i have found a kreon external drive for it works out £41.99 is this about right which i dont mind paying?Is there anything else after this i will need many thanks for all the help.

Come on, think about it.
Kreon/360 drive - You're ripping the stealth info right from that disc. The disc you're holding in your hand, staring at. Obviously you know the stealth info is 100% legit... you're staring at it.
wxRipper/abgx - This method doesn't use the stealth info from that disc which is in your hands. You have to "trust" what's in some database out there in www land. And like I've already said, we've seen before that the database has been wrong.
There is no disputing which method is better.

Sounds a good price if it includes the external housing but then again i'm in nz so here that would be $120.00,i had to buy the housing separate so ended up costing around $150.00 tho the housing has fan cooling which is why it's somewhat dear,the drive itself preflashed was only $60 nz
The 360 will need to be flashed with the latest firmware or you won't be ale to play the newer games as they have a new protection on them as I've just found out yesterday..lol..some new games i bought & backed up won't work until i get it done,umm the only other things you need is verbatim DVD+R from singapore or find a thread with what media is best,tho for me the verbs are best as there has not been a failure yet with more than 100 backups done & none are stealth patched i certainly haven't run any thru abgx360 untill i hit the new protection to find out what the issue was
ok burning 360 games for me it's clonecd (DO NOT USE ANYDVD),you could use imgburn but i can't comment if it's any good for games,wabashman mentioned he used cloncd in a thread some where & that's all i needed to hear since he's pretty clued up on backups etc leergae & bhetrick are also so basicly if they say use this or that then it will be fine

Agreed even half life 2 orangebox has according to abgx unknown files on my original disc..lol..

Some of us like to rely on our own rips to keep us from a chance of a possible ban. ABGX has been wrong before and I'm sure it won't be the last time. You put too much faith in ABGX. Yes it is an awesome program, but I won't let it patch any data over mine.
Plus, everybody loves to have their PC case open and drives taken apart sitting outside the case like this!

My thoughts exactly. I bet a lot of people have broken their burners using the hot swap method... why risk a $50 burner when a kreon drive is only $40?
@Jsune, there are a few people from korea on ebay selling sh-d163b's (not flashed with kreon) for around $40 aud (about 20 pounds)... they'd probably take a month to get to uk though.

Fourty Pounds is bloody expensive. I could easily get an external Kreon Drive here for like 30 Euros (20 Euros the drive, 10 Euros the housing), that's like 25 Pounds. Kreon drives aren't as expensive in Europe as they are in the US.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Really? 40 pounds = $80 (aud)... in australia an external sh-d163b costs like $110 (55 pounds)
