Hey, I'm on 4.0u and am trying to run a PAL version of Wii Sports Resort. I've got it on both disc and USB with no success. I am able to watch about half of the Wii Motion Plus video if I run it with NeoGamma R6. (Can't remember settings I used right now, I followed the advice I found on this site) It then brings up an error that says the disc could not be read. How do I go about using an Alt. .dol in USB Loader GX? I cannot find the option. Any ideas on why I'm getting this error? I think it might just be the disc I'm using. I'm burning with Img Burn at 2x.

The PAL version is not compatible with the NTSC(U) so you will need to wait till the USA version comes out on Sunday or play the JAP version.

Are you sure? I can see the video...or is that why it cuts out in the middle?

the pal version plays fine on my 4.1u wii with usb loader gx so I would not say that you can't play a PAL version of Wii sports resort on an NTSC system. That's just silly considering you can play other PAL/JAP games on NTSC wii's that have been PROPERLY softmodded.

It probably cuts out part way through because of a bad dvd burn or a bad .iso image. Assuming you have a bootleg version since your system is NTSC and you're using a PAL game so the problems could be:

1) The .iso you downloaded was copied inorrectly
2) During download some of the data was corrupted
3) During your burn, data got corrupted

Try reburning the iso at 2.4x or 4x on a DVD-R disc (don't burn any faster and don't use +R or any type of RW).

If it still freezes part way through the video, i'd say your iso is bad.

In order to play the PAL version you have to FORCE NTSC and when I force NTSC I get a green screen (that is with NeoGamma and USB Loader GX).

I have also read others that have had this issue.

Have you got it to load on your NTSC(U) system? If so what version of USB Loader GX are you using and what are the settings? What cIOS are you using?

Not all games are region comaptible. So your just silly to say that just because some work all must work.

I'll have to check my exact settings when I get home, but if i remember correctly it is USB Loader GX revison 630 or 633. Make sure you're using the homebrew or forwarder version and not just the channel or the "update" function within the application will not work. The channel goes through the motion of downloading the update, but after the wii resets when you check the version, it is still the same old one.

Force NTSC did not work for me - doing that I also got the green screen. Instead, I left the disc default but i turned the vid patch on. Also have .002 turned on and boot .dol. There are 2 .dol's in the iso, so make sure you have the right one. You DO NOT want the main.dol, you want the one further down in wiiscrubber under video.

Using cIOS38_rev13(a), but I also have hermes 222/223 installed both with 37 merged with 36 options on 249. However in USB loader GX i am using 249 and not 222 or 223.

Last I have preloader .29 for 4.1u installed. it has the option for force NTSC and I do have that option selected in preloader, but not in USB loader.

Reburned and got the video to play all the way through. It then reset the Wii. I disabled the alternate .dol and got an error 1189. At least I think that is what it says its hard to see there is other text in the way. Any advice?

Scratch that just got it to work. Put in the old disc that would not play video fully and it booted up when I disabled .dol. Awww, just got game disc could not be read. I'm going to burn ANOTHER copy and see what it does.

Do you have Composite or Component cable?

The USB loader compatibility guide says you need a component cable if you have NTSC(U) and want to play the PAL. I only have a composite (yellow, red, white) cable and no component.

You could also have a TV that supports PAL 50hz or 60hz.

Got it to play with another disc. Looks great but no color. Guess my TV doesn't support it =(. I don't mind though this game is tight! Good luck getting yours to work

Probably so, but if you're going to play pal backups, probably worth it to get component cables, especially considering how cheap they are. Even so, the green screen might be something different since it is sticking there. I get a green flash for about 2 seconds no matter what game or region I use in USB Loader GX. It always starts the game right after though and doesn't stick there. Are you sure you have the right .dol file to start the video? It is not the main.dol, but the other one under video.

Larry do you cIOS 38 rev13a installed. Try messing with some settings in NeoGamma R6.

I have:

Boot Lang - Console Default

Force Vid - Disc

Patch Vid - All

Vid TV - Yes

Patch Country - Yes

Hook - GC Pad

002 - Yes

Save - Yes(Obviously)

Then boot. I have to boot with one disc, and when it gives me disc cannot be read error I put in other disc. I doubt you'll have this prob I just have crappy media.

Got a component cable and it works now. Kind of weird that it wont work with a composite cable but will with a component cable.

Yes I have color.

Do you have a composite cable or component.

Composite is Yellow, White and Red (This will give green screen if force ntsc and black and white if not).

Component is Green, Red, Blue, White and Red (this works when set to 420p without forcing NTSC same settings as whatelse suggested works with color).
