wii won't play backups after most recent update

I updated my wii (north american) recently and it stopped playing backups. I know that I can just downgrade the wii (which i will do if there isn't another fix). So, is there another fix that will let me keep the update and play backups?

PS, it's a softmodded wii.

Did you run IOS60Patched and IOS DOwngrader after upgrading?

More info would help. like what firmware you was at before updating. What cIOS do you have etc. etc.
