Just a quick question. Just wondering if its possible to transfer a DVD drive from one 360 to another. Reason I am asking is I have a Benq drive and if I ever got the rrod I would like that in a new xbox as they are much easier to flash. Is this possible? Any tutorials out there?
yea, there are only about 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 tutorials out there for this. perhaps a quick search would have showed you that. but you can swap drives, you have have to flash the old drive with the new drives firmware, so its pretty much pointless.

Can I physically put the old drive into a new console. In my case, putting my BenQ into a new 360 console. Its the easiest I find to flash so I want to keep it for as long as possible.
why wouldnt you be able to? and im telling you, its retarded to put the benq in a new console if you buy one. for one, it will come with a lite-on which is a better drive, 2, you will be 90% done flashing the lite-on before you are even ready to flash the benq with the lite-ons FW. 3, putting the benq in place of the lite-on will lead to a banning since no drives respond like the lite-ons do.

Well I don't care about being banned cause I don't play online. And flashing the Lite-on require probing and stuff that I don't want to do, Benq was simple, connect it to the sata port on my PC, press a few buttons and it was done.

You will still need to probe the drive for the DVDkey. Then you will have to spoof that info to the BenQ.
Like wabashman said, just go ahead and flash the Lite-ON. Maybe keep the BenQ around to flash with 0800 firmware and then you can make a back-up copy of your game.
