It won't read all discs, plays dvd's perfectly including ps2 games, It doesn't play Blu ray movies but plays SOME ps3 games... wtf? could it be the drive? but then againg why does it play dvds but not soome blu rays? HELPPP
hey mine plays bluray and cds perfectly,,but not dvds or ps2 games,,which is dvd format,,wonder if its the firmware doing this,,maybe there will be a fix next update,,
My PS3 (40 gig) stopped reading DVD's & games after I played a burnt CD, I took it back to Sony and they gave my a new one as it is a common fault in the 40 gig consoles.
Hey Pride1 ur ps3 has a faulty Blu-Ray lense i had the same prob. The prob seems to be with 60gb models sold around launch time Xmas 07 New Yr 08 faulty batch. I rang sony explaind the prob told them i bought it at Xtra Vision, the girl on the phone gave me a Ref. No. & for XV told me that they would exchange it for a reconditiond 60gb for 160e See'n as it was out of warranty. Rang Xtra Vision on a mon & by sat they had my reconditiond ps3 in stock that was only last week. I Found Sony to be really helpfull u shud call them!!! PS: They mite tell u to do a full system format DONT it takes 4hrs & it dont fix the prob. Tell them you've done it already.
