"Alright so here is a short video of my Xbox. I recently got this Xbox off of a friend and it still had the warranty on it. He said it was having some Open Tray problems and wouldn't read any discs. So I decided to open the thing up, since his warranty was up anyways. I took a look inside and the drive seemed fine. I tried to see if maybe the sata cable went bad, replaced that and no luck. I also copied the key from the original drive and put it on one of my working Hitachi's spoofed as the original BenQ and still no luck. I know that the drive works, and I have flashed many 360's and the key is right. So what is wrong here? Please help with any suggestions or comments. Thanks." Thats the description of the video. Basically I have tried everything, what could be the problem. Or am I just screwed?
Heres a video if that helps.

Open Tray error is usually caused by a laser going bad or not strong enough.

Basically here is a "situation" that happened. Just to give you guys a better understanding.
I have 2 Xbox's, one that works and one that has a open tray error.

The one that works has a HITACHI DRIVE. The one that doesn't has a BENQ.
So here is what I did:
BENQin the xbox with the tray error didn't seem to want to read discs. So I read the firmware off the drive and saved it to my computer. My HITACHI that does read backups and works no problem. So I thought well let me see if the BENQ is just a bad drive. I took the firmware from the BENQ and put it onto my HITACHI and spoofed it as the BENQ. To my surprise the xbox with the now working HITACHI gave the drive error too, but was just recently working in my other xbox. The only possible solutions I can think of is the xbox not getting enough power, or something wrong with the chips, maybe X-Clamp it to try? Idk, just a possiblity.

Are you sure you spoofed it correctly? I bet the benq does not have any valid firmware, so the firmware you dumped and spoofed onto the hitachi did not contain the benq dvd key... does the drive read dvd's? If so, it sounds like you have a bricked benq (or I may of completely misunderstood this entire thread).

Well it should have the valid firmware, it was sent into MS about 4 months ago for the RROD, and they sent it back. About a month later it began to give me problems reading games and then fully went to OPEN TRAY error.<-- SO according to that I thought the drive went bad, and it was never opened at all to mod it until now, so it has to have the correct key.

Probably a dodgy solder, I doubt the x-clamp fix will work, a reflow might though (or might not).
