Just tried to scan in a new digivox for a friend and the signal strength will not go above 50% yet my own (older but same version XL) box is showing 80- 88% signal strength.
As a result the box will not scan in all the channels. The firmware is the latest 1341 and have tried scanning for ages including manual to no avail.
Could the cable company have a new tactic to only allow half the signal through on the new boxes?

Upload a channel file from your box to pc and download to new box. I
have come across this on a different box that it was not showing true
signal readings.

Connect old box to pc.Open your downloader tick channel box and
click upload.Browse box will open and select where you want to put
it.If you have channels on your new box delete them or easier still do a factory reset,That done connect your new box to pc and open
downloader.Press browse button and locate the file you just uploaded
and select it.Click chanel on downloader and click download.Make sure your box reboots before disconnecting it.

Thanks for that Phil and will try it.
I wonder why the new boxes are only showing 50% signal. Anyone else experienced this?

somebody is going to have a bricked box if it is the new digivox xl usb
as that firmware is v1.04.confirm if it is this box and remove v1341 as that is for the ordinary xl.

Hi Cacti
It is NOT the usb version and have put the correct 1341 on. I have tried 2 new boxes and both are only coming up at 50% signal but on older boxes I have tried on the same network (without splitters too)I am getting 80% plus.
Not had this before and others must be experiencing this too.
Thanks to Phil I have got the channel dump loaded and is working.

got a bit worried when you said new box lol.were you scanning through extensions or splitters which will give you loss of channels also if upgrading in your area the same will happen.
forgot to say new tuner in that box,and i presume you factory reset and autoscanned your provider.

Tried scanning directly off feed with no splitters etc. Tried new lead, new software, factory reset, everything but on both brand new XLs I could not get the signal above 50%.
Other older boxes are showing signal in the 80s.
Must be a new tactic as I said earlier.

UPDATE
If anyone else has the same problem........... I had removed the white box off the wall and bypassed connecting to it. I presume the box must be a booster of some sort and thats why the signal was so weak.
Hope this helps someone.
