So... I just softmoded my wii following this great guide:

I followed every step and it all went perfect with no errors.

Then I tried launching a backup dvd, and it wouldn't load. It just timed out :(

So I installed Wiigators backup loader... same there.
(btw, do I only need to install wad?)

I tried burning pal games with different speeds (1x, 3x, 4x).
And I also tried using backup creator before burning one.

Nothing worked on neither loaders (except original games :P)

I'm using TDK DVD-R, can this be why it isn't working?

Where are you getting the disc images? Are you downloading them? Backing them up yourself using your PC? Getting them from friends? How are you buring the ISO file? You're not burning the discs as data discs are you?

I downloaded the iso files and used "write image to disc" on imgburn :)

The zip files that contains the iso files have "[PAL][MULTI5][ESPALWii.com]" in the filename. Don't know if it helps.

Do I need to do anything before burning? Patch it maybe?

It could be bad ISO files. It could be bad discs. It's a PAL game so I'm assuming you have a PAL console... correct?

oh yeah, I didn't get 2 questions answered...

1. Do I only need to install the wad for wiigatos backup loader after I followed the softmod guide.

2. Do I need to patch the iso or anything depending on which loader I use?

Do you know someone who has a copied game that you know works in their console? It would be a good way to test if it's the disc or your mod.

I would wait to try a known good backup before wasting any more discs.

Oh, and I didn't see the other questions till now:
1. Do I only need to install the wad for wiigatos backup loader after I followed the softmod guide.
That should be all you need, if you followed the softmod guide correctly the wiigator wad should work, although it's outdated now, I would use Neogamma if I were you.

2. Do I need to patch the iso or anything depending on which loader I use?
You don't need to, but I do just to be safe. I use brick blocker. Although some people say that the less you do to an ISO the better the chances it will work...

The mod works! :D I successfully launched back up games! :D

But still, It wasn't games I burnt myself :( The problem is probably the discs...
