As a newbie I originally soft modded my 3.4u wii using the twilight hack + cIOS36_rev7/wiigator and because it worked great I haven't altered it since. However, there are newer games I would like to play so I've been investigating once more. Larry's new guide looks great but should I delete any old files from the wii to clean up and start from scratch or just follow the guide to alter the system once again to upgrade to the latest and greatest?

Just update the cIOS to cIOS38_rev13a then update to 4.1 firmware. Then run IOS60Patched.wad and IOS Downgrader.

You can delete the old version of Wiigator and install NeoGamma if you want the updated backup launcher.
