I hold d-pad, while inserting pandora battery, but the menu doesn't come up, to install custom firmware.

I hold it and it goes to main menu, it worked on my brothers psp not mine. I have 8gb memory stick.

Early versions of PSP (early firmware) did not recognise a memory stick over 2GB, later firmwares do, what firmware do you curently have.

If your brothers memory stick works - just use that

5.50, but i figured it out. I put my brothers memory stick, and pndora battery in, and installed 5.00m33 yay. then i put in my memory stick, and regular psp battery in, and it works. Is there a program that recognize subfolders, and good music applications., I would like that, and any good applications.

5.00m33-6 in recovery mode under config you can speed up the memory stick reading by the psp you access recovery mode by starting psp while holding right shoulder button 5.50GEN-A and 5.50GEN-B allow you on the psn network for online game playing as everything up to 5.00m33-6 is blocked www.maxconsole.net has loads of apps for psp
