Wii Sports Resort on Legacy WiiKey & 3.0U

I have a WiiKey modded Wii. It was the older style WiiKey modchip as seen here...

Not sure if that makes a difference.

I don't know whay WiiKey firmware I am running for sure. I think it is 1.9g but I'm not certain and I don't know how to check.

I am running Wii Firmware 3.0U. I've avoided all updates since installing the WiiKey.

I don't run homebrew or anything else. I just play the occasional ISO backup games.

I just purchased Wii Sports Resort with the controller adapter. It wants to update the system before it allows me to play.

I'm worried that I'm going to brick my system by allowing it or it'll make my backup discs useless.

I'm admittedly clueless when it comes to this WiiMod stuff. All I have done is took apart the Wii, had an Elec. Engineer friend install the WiiKey, and I reassembled the Wii. It's been working fine for the dozen of so backup games I've played with the occasional disc being unreadable (Metroid Prime Corruption).

What do I need to do to play Wii Sports Resort (on my original disc) without harming my Wii?

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

I have a D2 type modchip and homebrew channel beta 9 still and I updated with Wii resort this morning, no difference whatsoever as far as I can see.

Everything just works as it was.

Thanks. I just did the WiiKey 1.9s update and then did the 4.0U (or whatever is on the Wii Resort Disc) and it rebooted and I can see the disc now. Didn't brick my Wii....thank god. Haven't tried my backup discs yet.
