xbc wont detect drive

as the title says, i cant get xbc to detect my drive. im trying to rip a game using it. i just flashed my samsung ms28 drive with ixtreme1.6 and i have a via vt6421 chip installed with 5.30c software. i connected the xbox using the internal slots of the via card as well but sill no luck. and help would be great

Do you have iXtreme 1.6 for online play or dedicated iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware flashed to the drive?

If you have ix1.6 for online play, you will have to put the drive in half tray status and power cycle. Windows will then recognize the drive.

i have it for online play
do you mean the whole vendor mode thing?
to got it into vendor mode by going into jungleflasher and hitting the id button and then powering off and on withing one second and then jungle flasher tells me it is in vendor mode. after that, i opened up xbc and it still didnt detect it. should i use the half tray method to put it in vendor mode?

You won't need to do anything with the vendor mode. All you need to do is power on your drive, eject the tray, push it in half way, and power it back on. Give Windows about 20-30 seconds and then check device manager. Go ahead and hit the eject button so it closes the tray. Windows should have the drive recognized at that point.

Make sure you are using XBC v2.9 as it is needed for ix1.6 ripping.

also after i power off the xbox and then back on within 1 second after it powers back on the light on the xbox green light blinks the same as when you are opening the disc tray or closing it. could this be a problem?

No problem, glad I could help. Once you shut off the drive, 0800 mode will be turned off and you will back to the regular "online play" mode.

Actually you will want to use 5.2c firmware. Works the best..
