Hi guys

I have a laptop and I want to back up games from my laptop can I put the SH-D162D Drive in a external closure and back up my games from my laptop using xbox backup creator.

Yes, you will need a USB caddy that has IDE connections internally.

Are you sure I've read two forums saying that if you connect a ide to usb you can't back up games.

I'm not for sure. I've never messed with Kreon in a caddy. If that is so, just get a caddy that has SATA.

why wouldnt you be able to? i had a usb/ide enclosure that had a burner in it and i could back up dvds, so why wouldnt it work with a kreon drive?

yes you can use the drive in a usb caddy just make sure its a latest one . i use my samsung d162d ide version in mine . also works great with xbox creator 2.9 for older games and new games plus back up from burned games as well

hope that helps remember to set the jumper to master only to make it work
