So my mates given me his years old 360 which he bought in the first week of release to fix due to it throwing the dreadful RROD spasm. What complicated my troubleshooting was that this 360 has already been fixed with a timid version of the x-clamp fix (the actual screws holding the heatsink to the the x clamp which had been removed was still there tightend with a bolt where the x clamp use to be).

So having read that sometimes these things just need another sweet kick to (i.e a new application of thermal grease and a solder reflow) I went about fixing it. Unfortunately it hasn't seemed to have work. Tried the process of solder reflow about 5 times along with different number of washers/tighening and yet still there's an RROD after 20min.

The funny thing is I can't even make sure it is a GPU error as when I try the "hold the sync button and press the eject button" it doesn't work and fails to bring up the secondary code. Could this fault be related to the 360's new RROD?

Any help you guys can offer would be grandly appreciated. :)

Nothing wrong with the power it seems as the power brick remains green all the way through. I'm thinking it's just a damaged xbox hence the not reading of the sync button being pressed in.
