I was trying to install yellow dog linux on my PS3, but I am unable to install it...
I burned the iso in a DVD, I insert the disk and install it. After that, I choose the other OS as my default OS.
After the kboot screen I press enter to install the OS, and the video gets off (on my TV the screen gets totally blue).
I tried downloading the ISO several times, even the other version for the NEW PS3...
I also tried burning the iso with several programs...
First of all, you need to be self sufficient. Do some research, there's already tons of tut's out there. Also, if you are not familiar with something or do not know what it does, leave it alone. It's already obvious that if you're having trouble installing YDL, you're going to have even more trouble using Linux.
Back to topic - at kboot, if you're connected to TV via component or HDMI cable, depending what your TV's resolution is, type: install_ps3_1080i , install_ps3_1080p, or install_ps3_720p and press enter. If you're connected to TV via composite, let it default or type install_text and press enter.
Just a heads up, Linux users, as well as many others, don't like people who don't try to learn things (simple things) on their own and wants to get spoon fed all the time.
