Will a NTSC-U WiiFit work on Modded NTSC-J Wii?

Hi, sorry if this article repeated but I could not find a thread specific to my concern.

Basically, I have a Japanese Wii and I want to purchase a Wii Fit in Canada.
My Wii is modded and I believe is WiiKey.
The last time I updated both the Wii and WiiKey was to play Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart. The firmware version is 3.2J. I am not sure what the WiiKey patch version is but I can play both games fine.

So I want to know if I buy the Canadian WiiFit right now without doing further updates beforehand, would the WiiFit update brick my Wii?

I also heard that the new Wii firmware may render WiiKey useless. Is this true?

The wiifit hardware should work on any wii region. I don't have a wiikey so can't say for sure if the game will work though. But all you should need to do is ensure that your Wiikey has its latest firmware installed.

Go to their website to verify how to update your current version firmware and how to update if need be. Assuming you have the latest firmware upate, you should be able to play a different region game.
