so i am using shared connection(so hoping that's not the issue) but i been playing xbox live last few months every few days ill just have it where i cant play at all because i just get dropped in anything im in. getting really frustrating because it always drops me at worst times. it never disconnects me from everything just drops connection then i have to reconnect. i mean drops me from game im in not from XBL sometime it does disconnect me from XBL but most the time just out to menu to reselect a game a connect

when i test my connection on xbl says that i have moderate nat issue. not sure what that means or how to fix i have looked around but want to confirm that could be what just dropping me. because i go along lag free and then BAM! disconnection really annoying. any ideas?

i have pretty good connection, and good internet speed. it just seems to happen often but always out of no where.

I dont care if you care about my spelling and or grammar. I also dont care if you dont care that i dont care that you care about my spelling and or grammar.

Does this happen with your internet on your computer as well? A couple years ago i had a problem like this and it turned out to be the router going bad. It wouldn't throw dhcp addresses anymore it wouldn't renew dhcp either. I bought a new router and all the problems went away.

I also forwarded the correct ports to give xbox live an open nat.

ya forwarding was gonna be my next step just such a hassle...

but no to my knowledge it doesnt effect other computers. it doesnt even really drop me from XBL just drops me from what im doing. then takes me out to game menu but im still online, ill be playing with friends and the second it happens im able to reconnect with them through chat and scream in frustration.

The router pretty new, not saying its not it but where it appears only the 360 has the issue im leaning away from the router.

Look, I'm trying to help you, but if you don't answer what it is you mean by "shared connection" you're going to just get a bunch of random guesses like you continue to get.

Do you mean "shared" like you are in a dorm, "shared" like you connect your Xbox 360 to the internet via your PC, "shared" like it's just a regular connection that runs through a router, "shared" like you are using a common wireless access point with other people, or what?

If you don't tell us your setup, nobody can help you.

Can you please explain your entire internet setup?

How does your PC connect to the internet?

It could just be the game. I very often disconnect while playing Gears of War, yet have never encountered a disconnect on World at War. Is it all your games?

Ok, here's a simple test for you to determine whether it is your Xbox/game or whether it is your internet connection/PC that is dying. Your NAT setting has nothing to do with getting booted from a game, but an open NAT will make it easier to join one.

The next time you are going to play on Live, on the computer you use to share a connection to your 360, open up a command prompt (go to "run" and type "cmd" then press enter), and type "ping google.com -n 9999". Your computer will start outputting numbers on this screen, telling you how long it takes to reach google.com.

As you play your Xbox, if you lose connection at any point, look at your computer's response time for google.com. If it is still going just fine and nothing has changed, it's probably an issue with your Xbox. If it starts saying stuff like, "Connection timed out", then it is either your internet connection, your router, or your PC.

For anyone who's still unclear I think he is using laptop to bridge across. So its Xbox----Ethernet---->Laptop-->Router-->Live. It sometimes gives DC's if there are a few kinks with ports and permissions etc.

Go to portforwarding.com and select your router, then follow the instructions to forward the ports for xbl. I had a similar issue with L4D, portforwarding fixed it.

sorry been really busy but what my setup is close to laptop idea above. but going from PC that connected wirelessly to router that upstairs(has to be there no way to run physical line either) i do have a good connection to router. from the pc goes to 360 via shared connection.

i will try that ping thing that a great idea, i will setup portforwarding if that will help the connection issues. like i said this doesnt happen all the time just every few days but when it does just happens over and over again. to the point where i have to just stop playing as i just get disconnected 1 or 2 mins in what ever im doing. dont think its game as its happen on multiple games so far.

I dont care if you care about my spelling and or grammar. I also dont care if you dont care that i dont care that you care about my spelling and or grammar.
