hey guys, my friends r going to pakistan and i've heard from other friends that when u get ure wii "chipped" from pakistan it works great, by great they mean that u can play any region games and can always do a nintendo update without any problems. what i'm not sure about is if it can play backed up games through the disk channel. also does any1 here know what type of chip they use like wiikey, because if i want to get my wii modded here then it would cost me a fortune with wiikey but over there its a bout £15-£20. my main question is what modchip do they use and would backed up games work through the disk channel?

Yes games would boot through the normal disc channel if using a Modchip.

As for what chip they use. How do you expect anyone to give you that information? Get in contact with the place you want to send the system to and ask them.
