Ok, so my lite-on was already flashed with 1.5 and so i took the dummy.bin, inquiry.bin, and identify.bin. then i flashed to dummy to 1.6. after i did this, my computer froze and the dvd drive wont open and so i had to turn off my xbox and wait about a minute for my laptop to be responsive again.
ive tried like idk how many different methods so far and none of them seem to work. I think it has something to do with my PCMCIA card. In dosflash it looks through some of the ports for my lite-on. it never reaches the port which it is really on. (0xFDD0) Can somebody please help me out. I really hate the idea of haveing to buy another drive after i just bought the xtractor tool and this other stuff. so far, im 120$ in the whole. any help would be great.
What program were you using when it crashed? Have you tried the latest Jungle Flasher? If not, try the other Windows program, DosFlash32(?).
I assume you have a SATA port on your laptop and that it is an add-on card in your PCMCIA slot? This is going to be really iffy, as even some desktop SATA chipsets are finnicky. You need a VIA chipset, or so I've read.
The good news is that your DVD drive should be fine, though. Lite-On drives are fully recoverable from a bad flash. Hitachi DVD drives are the only ones that will truly brick from a bad flash, AFAIK.

You posts contadicts itself. Was your drive detected in dosflash (I'm assuming yes)? If not, you probably need a PCMCIA card with a via 6421 sata card.
