Is it region free or the same region as your system?

If it isn't then you can get this message.

Do you launch it from Wii menu or SD card?

What firmware is your system?

Have you recently updated to 4.0 or 4.1 firmware? If so did you run IOS60Patched.wad?

I dont know if it was region free.

I installed it through Wad Manager 1.4

Firmware is 4.1 and I have yesterday went through many steps to get the USB loader working. I know to get it working I got the IOS in order.

Here are some steps I went through

4.0NoCIOSFix was applied
CMDVDX34, WMIOS35 applied
cIOS38_rev14 applied

Was the IOS60Patched applied during these procedures I dont know.

Can you tell?

You need to run IOS60 Patched.wad to patch the IOS60 so Vc/WiiWare games can run.

Make sure it is the proper region for your system.

Cool - Can you confirm this wont affect any other IOS or Cimos fix I have done.

Aslo do I need to run the IOS downgrader or maybe I have already done it?

Being a bit lazy but can you just give me the link to the iOS60Patch.wad file

Thanks

my 2 cents:
start up bootmii (assuming you have it installed) and do a NAND backup. Most things are working for you (from my understanding) so now is a good time to do a NAND backup (assuming you don't have an LU64+). After the backup, install IOS60 patch.wad. And don't expect everyone to google search files for you. People here will give you directions, but they won't hold your hand and wipe your bum for you. Finding that patch should be fairly easy to find. Google or check at any of the wii-modding sites. One of them is bound to have it (try gbatemp... they have a lot of stuff).
I am also not 100% sure of the policy about posting to links and I am not about to get banned... With the number of semi-bricks I have done, I don't want to lose my membership here lol

Hey guys

Just to let you know, that I uninstalled the PAL WAD and then installed the NTSE one. This worked.

But I dont understand that larrylje said that in order to play Vc/WiiWare games you need to install the IOS60 Patched.wad. But i didnt and nor i did in the past.

Can you tell how this would have worked?

Sounds then like you do not have the ability to play region free wads. I thought that that was part of cIOS isn't it? I saw the options in preloader, but all of the tutorials I found informed me not to turn them on.
Did I misunderstand something?
As for the patched IOS60, I thought it just was a custom IOS60 that allow you to run trucha signed disks on the 4.0 System Menu? I was not aware that WAD's used the trucha fakesign bug.
Thanks for the info though.

Thanks and have a nice day

Never thought of that I could be able to boot a wad from SDCARD. Can you provide a guide on how to acheive this?

Also if the WAD is on the SDCARD would I still be able to have a channel linked to it?

Many Thanks

You can't.

I ment WAD VC/WiiWare games that have been installed. Games that where downloaded from Shop Channel should work. Those that have been installed with a WAD and moved over to the SD card will not unless IOS60Patched.wad has ban ran.

Larrylje was telling you that your wiiware/vc games will work fine from the normal channel, but if you try to run them from the SD card (which is the big change for 4.0/4.1) it won't work without the ios60 patch.
This was news to me and I would like to thank Larrylje for the info. I haven't tried running any VC/WW games off of SD apart from legit ones i tossed on there, but I had plans to throw some emu's on there at some point.

Thanks and have a nice day

Sorry mate, No need to get upset. I guess I was trying to say that I didnt know that if is possible to run wiiware from the SDCard. So I thank you for letting me know that. Then I simply asked if you can provide a guide on how to run wiiware games from the sdcard. It was and is clear to me that I need to run the IOS60 Patched.wad in order to boot WiiWare games from SDcard.

And again larrylje I thank you for all the time and effort you provide to help me and others on this forum :)

basically, install ios60 patched and copy it over (install as a normal channel and move it to the SD loader like you would a normal channel)

Thanks and have a nice day

IOS60Patch.wad will not install a channel. It just patches IOS60.

Sorry... what I had meant was install ios60patch.wad then copy the channel (vc or wiiware) onto the SD card as you normally would. Guess I should be more clear, eh?

Thanks and have a nice day
