Cheers Hasamoder

Yes you can.

Mine has 2 Partitions on it. One with 50GB (formated FAT32) so I can keep my game covers and other files on it. 400GB (formated WBFS) to place my game backups on.

So you would Partition the drive in half or however you want to split it. Make sure both Partitions are active and primary with a drive letter set.

Format the partition you want to install your Wii backups on to FAT32. Then use the USB Loader or WBFS manager to format that partition to WBFS.

You can then format the other partition to whatever file system you would like. I did mine as FAT32 so I could store files on it for other Wii homebrew applications to use(that need FAT32). Keep in mind if you format it FAT32 then you can not store any files over 4GB onto that partition.

note also that the first partition should be the DOS/windows/FAT32 and the secondary will be WBFS format.

This is what I did.

Make sure you have everything on the drive saved before partitioning the drive.

Then go to disk management under administrative tools.

Right click on the drive and choose delete volume (this will delete the partition that is already on the drive).

Right click on drive again and choose New Simple Volume.

Click NEXT

Now edit the MB to whatever size partition you want (if you want it half then divide the total amount of MB on the drive by 2 and use that # for MB to add to this partition).

Click NEXT

Place a dot in the radial dial that says ASSIGN THE FOLLOWING DRIVE LETTER.

Click NEXT

Place a dot in the radial dial that says FORMAT THIS VOLUME WITH THE FOLLOWING SETTINGS.

File System: FAT32 (or whatever file system you want this partition as since it will be left as a WINDOWS file system).
Allocation Unit Size: Default
Volume label (leave as default or whatever you want to name it).

Make sure there is a check mark in Perform quick format.

Click NEXT

Click FINISH

You should now have a healthy Primary partition.

Now right click on the remaining unpartitioned disk space and choose New Simple Volume again.

Click NEXT

Keep the MB as is so the rest of the disk space can be used in the next partition.

Click NEXT

Place a dot in the radial dial that says ASSIGN THE FOLLOWING DRIVE LETTER.

Click NEXT

Place a dot in the radial dial that says FORMAT THIS VOLUME WITH THE FOLLOWING SETTINGS.

File System: FAT32 (needs to be set to FAT32 so the partition can be formated to WBFS properly).
Allocation Unit Size: Default
Volume label (leave as default or whatever you want to name it).

Make sure there is a check mark in Perform quick format.

Click NEXT

Click FINISH

You should now have 2 partitions.

Use WBFS Manager or a USB Loader to format the second partition (FAT32) to WBFS file system.

You are now done.

No you need it FAT32.

Search for an application called fat32format. This application will format it to FAT32.

Just to be clear it works best to format the second half in most cases the larger of the two as the WBFS. That sucks I finished loading all the games to the first half of the drive. Looks like I may just have to start over. I love the USBLoader.

Are you guys sure the drive has to be in FAT32 in order to reformat it to WBFS? The reason I ask is because I had gotten a Western Digital hard drive that had previously been formatted to NTFS and I had no problems with WBFS manager formatting it.
