Was reading over the updated Ultimate Sticky and read over the thread for the Intercoolers, and the problems.
Now its been over a year, is there anything new or better on the market?

The Nyko Intercooler TS. It runs on its own power, and not the xbox's. I don't know if that's good or not, but it's better than the old ones.

That's the old intercooler. The new TS one doesn't use Xbox's power, it uses its own power adapter.

Yeah, just had a customer using one of the old style ones. Best thing to do is upgrade the fans to a tailmoon whipser fan. They work great. Putting outside fans over the internal fans is stupid and messes up air flow.

True. If the internal fans and external fans don't move the exact same volume of air, then it restricts airflow. If they DO move the exact same amount, then it defeats the purpose. Either way, it's a pointless add-on.

every 360 that i have torn apart to fix the RROD is because there is so much dust and dirt inside it plugs the heatsink,,so the 360 overheats,,if you keep the 360 clean and free form dirt should never fail,,yes in some cases the hardware does fail and thats because it was mass produced to quickly,,but if you maintain your 360 you should not need outside help to keep it cool,,just like your car,,dont change the oil for awhile and see what happens,,i have had my 360 since launch and every 6 to 10 months i tear it down and clean it,,runs like clock,,and yes the 360 fans are goodnuff,,cheers P.S.,,homesick,check out this link and tell me if the intercooler would help this 360 or any other fan mod,, http://cornwall.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell...QAdIdZ134403697 ,, i know the mods may hate me for this but its not for the ad its for the pics,,cheers

Umm, if the external fans move more air than the internal ones, then even if they do restrict air flow, they will pull that air out anyway. But if you do get an intercooler, make sure it is not loud, i've nearly gone deaf listening to my pulse peripherals one.

You have no idea what you are talking about! The RROD has nothing to do with dirt!

In which case the 360 is working harder. If the stock fans were so "great" thhey could still keep the box cool.

Really,,so then what your saying that when the xbox gets dirty and the heatsinks get pluged like that picture from that link,,and the unit overheats because of that,,and thats when the chips start to seperate for the board because of the intence heat, thats what causes the red rings and if the xbox was clean and dirt free that the internal stock fans can breath and do there job,,keeping the xbox cool like it was brand new,, and i dont know what im talking about,,WOW,,i hate to see the inside of your xbox,,,

Every box I have ever repaired has had little to no dirt in there, so you cannot tell us that dirt is the problem. Yes it can cause to overheat, but if it wasn't he solder, all you would have to do it blow it out and be done. That is not the case here.
