Hi i am a newcomer to cod4 and can anyone tell me what gun to do first and so on. like a checklist plz. (this is because i never get kills)

It all really boils down to personnal choice mate, different strokes for different folks etc.
You could take alook here for some set ups.

The first weapon I used to get my first 7 kill streak was the Skorpion.

Skorpion (Red Dot Sight is crucial for beginners)
Any pistol.

Any first perk (Bandolier if you have but I doubt that you have it)
Stopping Power/Juggernaut.
Steady Aim/Deep Impact

And try hip firing (don't aim in) and you're confronting an enemy, hip fire and strafe to the right or left as your enemy will shoot straight ahead.

You can also try drop shotting, which is going when your enemy sees you.
I don't recommend this yet since you've just started.
