chipped wii (new sports resort)

Help just forked out for new sports resort for sons birthday , have a chipped wii (bought in Thailand) so havent a clue what it chipped with put in disc and look ok however once I pressed start screen just went black . Any idea bear in mind not really a techy and really new it all this , or is it just a case of taking it back and getting a refund (is this the case of all games purchase if so at least I wont waste anymore money) thanks in advance to any replies help would really be appreciated

did you hook the wii motion plus device to the controller before inserting and loading the game?

have you updated your wii to latest firmware? What FW is your wii running now?

are both the console and the game the same region?

Good luck getting your money back since you opened it. I cant think of a one retailer in the states that will give a refund for an opened game. Same goes for movies and music.

Hi all here a bit of additional information maybe someone can tell me where I go more here , check out wii and found out its a ntsc (usa) think it appears to be semi bricked as couldnt get into setting to see what version was running (the game was Pal) first can anyone tell me if it possible to unbrick it and secondly just for futher reference and not to feel like a right gob----e but even if you wii is chipped (dont know with what) can you only play the same region games or is there anything you can do to the wii so it can play all region games - thanks to all in advance

wii sports resort but think is was bricked prior to this think it may have been done by Mario Kart - thanks
