cant get stock sammy into vendor mode?

hey guys, first sammy here(flashed everything else) and its givin me fits. i manually installed portio, i can see my drive in "drive properties" but when i go to sammy unlock, i cant get into vendor mode. so then i select "intro/device id" and when it says to turn off for 1 second it still fails. im sure im missing something easy but i dont have any thought on what? im using onboard sata and jf 1.62

Only time I used on-board SATA, i couldn't get it to work. Couldn't see 360 drive at all. I have never had any issues using a sata card tho. Try disconnecting any drives that are connected to other sata slots, obviously leaves in you hard drive

is this a stock sammy? or has it been flashed already? i havent flashed a sammy in a long long time, but i think for an already flashed one you have to use the 0800 disc, or the activate disc before you unlock it.

ok, well thats not the problem then. should just have to hook it up, open JF, unlock, intro, read, write, outro. only thing i can think of is for some reason your onboard sata wont work for sammys but will for everything else. doesnt make to much sense, but you you might have to get the pci card.

oddly, even though its seen in drive properties, when jf opens it says 0 dvd drives. to double check i went into the hitachi tab to show a list of dvd drives on my pc it shows none. not sure how it can be seen in drive properties but nowhere else????

well youre doing the unlocking correct, on both possible ways. only thing i can think of is your chipset is compatible with sammys. i suggest spending the 15 bucks on the pci card.
